Shipping & Handling
Shipping rules are simple. We use Australia Post eParcel service either ordinary or Express Overnight where weight is less than 20kg. This is the most economic and safest method with over 5000 shipments we have yet to have a customer lose out. For shipments over 20kg we will attempt to split into 20kg or less units as this is still most economical. Where this is not possible, we will then obtain costs from the best courier or freight option applicable, offer optional insurance and await confirmation before shipping. Pickup can be arranged where it is convenient for you Monday to Friday from Brisbane Metro area .
Where shipping can be accurately calculated at on-line order time, you can pay immediately using our totally secure Bank Merchant facility for VISA or MASTERCARD, you can also use PayPal if you prefer, or make payment by Direct Deposit, Cheque, Money Order or cash direct where pickup is allowed.
Where shipping is not defined, no on-line payment is taken and we will communicate with you (Email, Fax or Phone) before shipping and payment is finalised.
Under 23kg
Shipping charges are calculated by the weight and quantity of items ordered. You will find a total weight listed for your order (and cost) when you proceed to your cart. As you proceed through 'Checkout' you will also be provided with your costs and options. We use eParcel a special Australia Post service that automatically insured and provides tracking information.
A signature is required for proof of delivery (Insurance requirement) so if you are not present you can pick up at your local post office. This system is safest for you, and allows us to make the committment that if it is lost or damaged, we will do the work for you. If lost, we are then able to replace much quicker than any other method.
Over 23kg
Orders over 23kg will be processed once you have been issued a quotation for freight. We use various couriers to get you the cheapest quote. Under special circumstances we may allow you to specify your own shipping company but handling charges may apply. Local pickup for heavy items may apply in special circumstances as we have limited facilities to assist with secure tiedown of your items. Local pickup means it is your responsibility TOTALLY once it is loaded to your vehicle.

At this time, freight is offered by quotation only. The freight quote will be emailed to you upon receipt of your order.

We do not ship overseas items that cannot be sent Australia Post International services unless special arrangements are made to cater to the customs handling and packing requirements for heavier shipments.
Dispatch Estimates
Orders are processed in order of receipt where stock is immediately available. You will be advised by Email or phone if any delay beyond our standard is likely. We endeavour to dispatch goods as quickly as possible, however dispatch times may vary during peak periods or according to stock levels etc. You will receive a con note and tracking information where Email is available.
Shipping times
The following represents the average and some variation during peak periods like Christmas and long weekends may occur.
Average 2-7 business days after dispatch, depending on your location.

What happens where items on the order are not immediately available?
We try to carry stock at all times but sometimes we do run out if demand is more than usual, or the supplier has not been able to supply with normal lead times.
Because of this, in some instances there may be a stock shortage. Items out of stock will be placed on backorder and shipped when stock arrives. Multiple item orders may be shipped separately. Northwood Tool Company will inform you of any delay should this be the case with your order. Normally, charges will not be made until items are ready to be shipped except where special orders terms and conditions apply.
Customs duty and taxes
Some countries may impose duty or taxes on imported goods. These charges are calculated upon receipt of your shipment by the local customs. It remains the responsibility of each purchaser to pay any import or other charges as required. Northwood Tool Company advises you to enquire with your customs department for rates and limits before you place an order.
Note for international orders, we deduct local GST tax from product before billing, however GST is still payable on ALL shipping and Handling charges.
